The Indian rupee opened 6 paise lower against the US dollar on Friday following weakness in Asian peers. The local currency opened at 82.01 as compared to the previous close of 81.95.
Domestic equities opened nearly flat in negative on Monday tracking dull global cues. BSE benchmark Sensex opened 45.40 points, or 0.07 per cent lower at 66,638.86, while broader NSE Nifty50 slipped 19.30 points, or 0.1 per cent to open at 19,725.70.
