After closing at 87.57 on Thursday, the Indian rupee opened Friday 11 paise higher at 87.46 to the dollar.
The Sensex was up 11.40 points or 0.01 percent at 78,069.56, and the Nifty was up 8.60 points or 0.04 percent at 23,611.95. About 1274 shares advanced, 911 shares declined, and 128 shares unchanged.
