The Indian rupee ended 54 paisa down on Friday at 84.56 to the dollar, while it opened at 84.02 in the morning.
At close, the Sensex was up 259.75 points or 0.32 percent at 80,501.99, and the Nifty was up 12.50 points or 0.05 percent at 24,346.70. About 1672 shares advanced, 2122 shares declined, and 134 shares unchanged.
