This evening, the rupee fell 2 paise to settle at 85.54 vs the US dollar.
The Sensex closed 450.94 points or 0.57 per cent lower at 78,248.13, while the Nifty fell 168.50 points or 0.71 per cent to 23,644.90. The market breadth was negative, with 1,368 stocks advancing, 2,460 declining and 140 remaining unchanged.
