Indian Rupee Opens Firm, Rises 27 Paise to 85.27 vs Dollar

The local currency opened at 85.27 against the US dollar, compared to the previous close of 85.54.

The Indian rupee opened 27 paise higher on May 16, tracking a decline in the dollar index during early trade.
