The rupee ended the day 18 paise down against the dollar, closing at 84.28
The BSE Sensex rose 901.50 points or 1.13 percent to close at 80,378.1 points. The NSE Nifty also rose 270.75 points or 1.12 percent to close at 24,484.05 points.
