Due to the rapid jump in the prices of cotton, cotton remains the first choice of farmers this Kharif season. This time the area under cotton has increased in almost all the states. According to sources, this time there is a possibility of cotton cultivation in Telangana too. A total of 1.42 crore acres will be cultivated in Telangana this Kharif season. In which the largest part will be from cotton cultivation. The area under cotton cultivation has been fixed at 70 lakh acres.
In a recent meeting in Telangana, several suggestions were made for sowing in Kharif season. Among kharif crops other than cotton, red gram has been suggested to be cultivated in 15 lakh acres while 45 lakh acres of land will be used for paddy cultivation. On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Niranjan Reddy directed the officials to provide adequate quantity of seeds and fertilizers to the farmers. At the same time, he urged the farmers to minimize the use of urea and artificial fertilizers so that the fertilizer capacity of the soil is maintained.
