The low pressure area which was over eastern parts of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh now remains over central parts of Madhya Pradesh. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level and is moving towards southwest with elevation.
The axis of Monsoon trough is passing through a low pressure area over Bikaner, Kota, Madhya Pradesh, Jharsuguda, Puri and then towards east-central Bay of Bengal.
During last 24 hours, Monsoon remained vigorous over South Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. These areas received moderate to heavy rains and one or two places received very heavy rains.
Light to moderate rain occurred at isolated places over many parts of Madhya Pradesh, parts of Gujarat, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Coastal Odisha and Assam.
Light to moderate rain occurred over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, parts of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Interior Odisha and North Punjab and light to moderate rain at one or two places over Rajasthan.
Light rain occurred over East and Southwest Rajasthan, West Bengal, parts of Jharkhand, Interior Tamil Nadu, Interior Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and rest of Northeast India.
During the next 24 hours, moderate to westerly westerly winds will continue over the west coast of the country, leading to heavy rains.
Monsoon is expected to remain active over West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Karnataka and parts of Kerala. Moderate to heavy rain is possible in these areas.
Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls very likely over South Chhattisgarh, parts of Telangana, Vidarbha, Marathwada, North Madhya Maharashtra, South Rajasthan, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy rains may occur over Odisha.
Light to moderate rain is possible over Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Interior Odisha, remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, South Jharkhand, remaining parts of Telangana, Lakshadweep, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh.
Light rain is possible over Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, parts of Northwest Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana.
During the next 3 to 4 days, there is a possibility of floods in Mumbai and suburbs.
