On Thursday, the Indian rupee weakened by 13 paise against the US dollar to close at 95.70 per dollar.
The rupee opened at 95.57 per dollar, showing a decline compared to the previous trading session. The domestic currency witnessed fluctuations during the trading day. Ultimately, the rupee settled at the 95.70 level, marking a drop of 13 paise from its previous closing price.
At close, the Sensex was up 628.04 points or 0.82 percent at 77,537.72, and the Nifty was up 153.55 points or 0.64 percent at 24,231.85. About 2367 shares advanced, 1778 shares declined, and 173 shares unchanged.
