A special conversation with Arif Bhai Shah, the general of Mahua station in Bhavnagar district
There are ups and downs in the cotton industry, but for the last 3 years, the graph of the ginning industry is moving in the direction of growth. Especially in Gujarat. In Gujarat, many spinning mills units are continuously setting up their plants, due to which the cotton consumption is increasing continuously here. Due to high demand, giners are not reading the need to find buyers. At present 75 lakh cotton bales are being consumed in the state of Gujarat. It is likely to increase further in the coming times. In such a situation, the next 5 years can prove to be golden years for the ginners of Gujarat.
Only 10 percent acreage increased
Regarding Bhavnagar district, he told that about 6 lakh cotton bales are produced here, out of which 2 to 2.50 lakh bales are in Mahua district. This year, like the whole country, there has been an increase in sleeping here too. But due to late arrival of rain, only 10 percent of the area has increased more. He said that the price of cotton had increased earlier this year in 2011 as well, but then the price was controlled after March, but this time the prices of cotton have remained in the sky for the whole year.
Step into ginning industry since 2005
Arif Bhai's father Dawood Bhai Shah used to do cotton tiding work. Arif says that in 2005, when I did anti in business, I saw a lot of profit in the ginning industry. This is the reason why we entered the ginning industry since 2005. Earlier our goods used to go mostly to the south but due to the increase in spinning mills, now good buyers are easily available locally only. Right now we have 1 ginning factory which is managed by my father, me and my brother Siraj Shah together.
Vision
It is a dream to start a spinning mill, but the labor cost at our station is very high.
want this improvement
Borrowing trend in the industry should end and most deals should be closed on cash.
