Cotton production to increase in Telangana says official
Agriculture minister MRK Pannerselvam , in an inaugural ceremony of Rasi seeds said that the state government is putting over huge efforts to enhance the cultivation land for cotton. In terms of figures he announced to increase the area under cotton cultivation to 4.53 lakh acres this year which was 3.5 lakh acres last year.
“We aim to be at the topmost position being at third position currently in the sector of cotton production “, he asserted. He also emphasised that consumer preference researches should be employed to grow and develop quality seeds resulting in a better harvest.
Minister of agriculture corporation and marketing in Telangana , Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, said on the event that the day is not far when India will cater the food and garment needs of world. Thus, we should work and aim with a vision to meet the demands of international markets along with planning strategies for local consumers.
