The Indian rupee slipped by 6 paise on Tuesday to close at 88.78 per US dollar, after opening the day at 88.72.
Meanwhile, domestic equities ended slightly higher. Sensex rose 136.63 points, or 0.17%, to finish at 81,926.75, while Nifty 50 gained 30.65 points, or 0.12%, to close at 25,108.30. Market breadth was negative, with 1,780 stocks advancing, 2,204 declining, and 142 unchanged.
