The Indian rupee on friday higher 06 paise to close at 87.52 per dollar, while it opened at 87.58 in the morning.
At close, the Sensex was down 585.67 points or 0.72 percent at 80,599.91, and the Nifty was down 203 points or 0.82 percent at 24,565.35. About 1264 shares advanced, 2582 shares declined, and 154 shares unchanged.
