This evening, the rupee ended the day 10 paise down against the US dollar, at 83.85
At the close of trading, the BSE Sensex fell 2,222.55 points or 2.74 per cent to close at 78,759.40. The NSE's 50-share index, Nifty, fell 667.75 points or 2.70 per cent to close at 24,055.60.
