The rupee finished at 84.39 against the dollar this evening, unchanged
The BSE Sensex closed at 78,675.18 points, down 820.97 points or 1.03%. The Nifty 50 index also fell 257.85 points or 1.07 points to 23,883.45 points. Due to this decline, the market cap of companies listed on the BSE fell by Rs 3.3 lakh crore to Rs 439.27 lakh crore.
