This evening, the rupee closed at Rs 83.96 against the dollar with a weakness of 1 paisa.
At the end of trading, the Sensex closed at 81,559.54 with a gain of 375.61 points or 0.46 percent. At the same time, the Nifty closed at 24,936.40 with a gain of 84.25 points or 0.34 percent.
