This evening, the rupee ended the day 7 paise down versus the US dollar at 85.61.
Indian stock market benchmarks, the Sensex and Nifty 50 ended the year with marginal gains. On December 31, the Sensex closed 109 points or 0.14% lower at 78,139.01, while the Nifty 50 closed 0.10% lower at 23,644.80.
