On Wednesday, the Indian rupee closed 15 paise higher at 89.78 against the dollar, after opening at 89.93.
At close, the Sensex was down 20.46 points or 0.02 percent at 84,675.08, and the Nifty was down 3.25 points or 0.01 percent at 25,938.85. About 1718 shares advanced, 2113 shares declined, and 137 shares unchanged.
