The domestic currency opened at ₹94.47 against the US dollar and fluctuated throughout the trading session. It eventually closed at ₹94.49, down 2 paise from the opening level.
At close, the Sensex was up 362.57 points or 0.48 percent at 76,515.43, and the Nifty was up 24.25 points or 0.10 percent at 23,897.70. About 2396 shares advanced, 1803 shares declined, and 188 shares unchanged.
