The rupee weakened by 2 paise to close at Rs 83.32 against the US dollar.
At the end of trading, BSE Sensex closed at 74,742.50, up 494.28 points or 0.67%. During trading it reached a new all-time high of 74,869.30. Whereas NSE's 50-share index Nifty closed at 22,666.30 with a gain of 152.60 points or 0.68%. Nifty also touched a new peak of 22,697.30 points during trading.
