The rupee strengthened by 19 paise against the dollar to open at 95.57.

On Thursday, the Indian rupee opened 19 paise higher against the dollar at 95.57, compared to its previous close of 95.76 on Wednesday.
The BSE Sensex opened at 77,468.45, having previously closed at 76,909.68. It was trading at 77,451.62, marking a gain of 541.94 points or 0.70 percent.
The Nifty 50 opened at 24,225.45 and was trading at 24,196.80, up 0.49 percent. Gains were also observed in the broader market, with the Nifty Midcap and Smallcap indices rising by approximately 0.5–0.6 percent.
