The Indian rupee higher 04 paise to close at 90.26 per dollar on Tuesday, compared to 90.30 in the morning.
At close, the BSE Sensex stood at 83,739.13, up 2,072.67 points or 2.54 per cent, while the NSE Nifty 50 settled at 25,727.55, up 639.15 points or 2.55 per cent.
