On Thursday, the Indian rupee opened at 95.55 against the US dollar and closed at 95.38, higher by 17 paise by the end of the trading session.
At close, the Sensex was up 238.22 points or 0.31 percent at 76,741.82, and the Nifty was up 80.75 points or 0.34 percent at 23,962.80. About 2793 shares advanced, 1263 shares declined, and 167 shares unchanged.
