The Indian rupee on Friday lower 02 paise to close at 90.97 per dollar, while it opened at 90.95 in the morning.
At close, the Sensex was down 961.42 points or 1.17 percent at 81,287.19, and the Nifty was down 317.90 points or 1.25 percent at 25,178.65. About 1615 shares advanced, 2392 shares declined, and 173 shares unchanged.
