The Indian rupee on Friday lower 09 paise to close at 91.74 per dollar, while it opened at 91.65 in the morning.
At close, the Sensex was down 1,097 points or 1.37 percent at 78,918.90, and the Nifty was down 315.45 points or 1.27 percent at 24,450.45. About 1813 shares advanced, 2217 shares declined, and 169 shares unchanged.
