The Indian rupee weakened by 10 paise against the US dollar on Monday, closing at ₹95.98 per dollar.
The domestic currency opened at ₹95.88 against the US dollar and fluctuated throughout the trading session. It eventually closed at ₹95.98, down 10 paise from the opening level.
The Sensex was down 1,124.02 points or 1.52 percent at 72,771.72, and the Nifty was down 360.25 points or 1.56 percent at 22,780.25. About 1214 shares advanced, 2905 shares declined, and 166 shares unchanged.
