The Indian rupee higher by 07 paise against the US dollar on Tuesday, closing at ₹95.98 per dollar.
The domestic currency opened at ₹96.05 against the US dollar and remained volatile throughout the trading session. It eventually settled at ₹95.98, up 07 paise from the previous close.
At close, the Sensex was down 242.65 points or 0.33 percent at 72,529.07, and the Nifty was down 64.05 points or 0.28 percent at 22,716.20. About 1871 shares advanced, 2321 shares declined, and 164 shares unchanged.
