The Indian rupee on friday higher 06 paise to close at 86.51 per dollar, while it opened at 86.57 in the morning.
At close, the BSE Sensex quoted at 81,463.09, down 721 points or 0.88 per cent, and the NSE Nifty50 was at 24,837, down 225 points or 0.9 per cent.
