The Indian rupee on wednesday higher 29 paise to close at 89.88 per dollar, while it opened at 90.17 in the morning.
At close, the Sensex was down 102.20 points or 0.12 percent at 84,961.14, and the Nifty was down 37.95 points or 0.14 percent at 26,140.75. About 1939 shares advanced, 1886 shares declined, and 140 shares unchanged.
