The Indian rupee on wednesday higher 01 paise to close at 88.20 per dollar, while it opened at 88.21 in the morning.
At close, the Sensex was up 368.97 points or 0.44 percent at 84,997.13, and the Nifty was up 117.70 points or 0.45 percent at 26,053.90. About 2404 shares advanced, 1576 shares declined, and 158 shares unchanged.
