The Indian rupee on tuesday lower 18 paise to close at 86.24 per dollar, while it opened at 86.06 in the morning.
At close, the Sensex was down 212.85 points or 0.26 percent at 81,583.30, and the Nifty was down 93.10 points or 0.37 percent at 24,853.40. About 1443 shares advanced, 2384 shares declined, and 134 shares unchanged.
