The Indian rupee weakened by 06 paise against the US dollar on Monday, closing at ₹94.92 per dollar.
The domestic currency opened at ₹94.86 against the US dollar and fluctuated throughout the trading session. It eventually closed at ₹94.92, down 06 paise from the opening level.
At close, the Sensex was down 876.37 points or 1.17 percent at 73,852.90, and the Nifty was down 257.20 points or 1.11 percent at 22,888.95. About 1163 shares advanced, 2925 shares declined, and 181 shares unchanged.
