The rupee appreciated 16 paise against the dollar this evening, closing at Rs 83.34.
At the end of trading, BSE Sensex closed at 73,917.03, up 253.31 points or 0.34%. Whereas NSE's 50-share index Nifty closed at 22,466.10 with a gain of 62.25 points or 0.28%.
