Cotton purchase increased, soybean slowdown, only 3 weeks left for purchase to end

The purchase of cotton at the support price in the district has increased, but the pace of soybean purchase is slow. While it has been seven weeks since the purchase started. So far only 6 thousand quintals of soybean have been purchased in the district. Here, CCI's cotton purchase has picked up pace. So far, CCI has purchased 30 thousand quintals of cotton in Khandwa and Mundi Mandi.

Purchase of soybean and cotton continues in the district at the support price. Soybean is being purchased at 8 centers in the district from October 25, while cotton is being purchased by the Cotton Corporation of India in the Upaj Mandi and Mundi Upaj Mandi located in Khandwa. But farmers are giving more importance to the purchase of cotton when they get higher prices than the market, whereas in the case of soybean's government price being lower than the market and not getting cash payment, farmers are keeping distance from the purchase centers.

This situation has arisen because the situation of soybean purchase in the district is bad because the farmers are not ready to sell the produce on the strict rules made by the government for purchase. They are not even getting cash payment for selling the produce. The situation is such that till now 393 farmers have sold only 6 thousand 755 quintals of cotton to the government at the government price.

The purchasing situation at eight centers in the last seven weeks is not good. Farmers have sold only 6 thousand 755 quintals of soybean at these centers till now. According to the District Marketing Association, till 9th December, 338 quintals of produce have been purchased at the Central Warehouse of Tehsil Cooperative Agricultural Marketing Association Marketing Khandwa, 122.50 quintals at the center Jai Bhole Warehouse Gudi Kheda of Tehsil Cooperative Agricultural Marketing Association Marketing Khandwa, 2724 quintals at Krishna Warehouse of Seva Sahakari Samiti Pandhana, 992 quintals at Mantri Warehouse in Harsud Co-operative Marketing Society, New Harsud, 1631 quintals at Shri Balaji Warehouse Kehlari of Seva Sahakari Samiti Mundi, 265 quintals at Siddhi Warehouse of Seva Sahakari Samiti Gambhir, 117 quintals at Dheer Warehouse of Krishak Cooperative Marketing & Processing Committee Khalwa and 608 quintals of produce have been purchased at Akshita Agro Warehouse Punasa located at Seva Sahakari Samiti Richfal.
