CCI to Showcase Digital Reforms in Cotton Sector at ‘Reform Utsav’

Hyderabad: The Cotton Corporation of India Limited (CCI) will organize a special event under ‘Reform Utsav 2026’ in Hyderabad on October 6, 2026. The event aims to advance the government's vision of strengthening the textile value chain—spanning ‘Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign.’ Government officials, farmers, industry representatives, and policymakers will participate in the event.

The event will showcase farmer-centric, transparent, and technology-driven reforms implemented by the CCI regarding cotton procurement and processing. To facilitate farmers, the CCI has introduced systems such as registration, slot booking, direct bank account payments, cotton quality testing, and digital traceability.

A key highlight of the event will be the ‘Kapas Kisan’ digital platform. Through this platform, farmers can access information related to registration, slot booking, and the procurement process. The Aadhaar-based payment system aims to ensure transparent and convenient payments for farmers.

Information regarding initiatives such as digital traceability, measures to prevent adulteration, ‘Kasturi Cotton Bharat,’ and High-Density Planting Systems will also be provided. These efforts aim to enhance cotton quality and productivity while strengthening the market position of Indian cotton. The event will feature presentations on CCI’s reforms, a short film, and feedback sessions with farmers and trade stakeholders.

Additionally, the Central Silk Board will showcase digital reforms being implemented in the silk production sector. Processes such as registration, renewal, payment, documentation, and grievance redressal have been streamlined through digital ‘Silk Mark’ services.

The Central Silk Board will emphasize bringing modern technology to farmers through the ‘Mera Resham Mera Abhiman’ (My Silk, My Pride) campaign. Under this initiative, farmers receive training and witness on-farm demonstrations of technology. The ‘seri-tourism’ initiative will also be showcased at the event, displaying the entire silk production process through museums, live demonstrations, and product centers.
