Brazil and Egypt are actively engaged countries to promote bilateral trade. In 2017, Egypt signed a free trade agreement (FTA) with Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. Since then exports between Egypt and Brazil have seen a three-fold increase. Talking about exports in the Apparel and Textile Industry itself, Brazil's exports from Egypt have grown by 138 percent in the last 4 years.

The FTA also encouraged the export of Egyptian apparel and home textile products to Brazil. Egyptian apparel exports to Brazil were just $0.944 million in 2017, rising to $2.281 million in 2020 and $2.249 million in 2021. Following the implementation of the FTA, Egypt's exports to Brazil increased from $155 million in 2017 to $541 million in 2021, as the agreement provided access to a number of strategic goods at competitive prices.

Egypt is actively engaged with Brazil to promote bilateral trade in various sectors including textiles. The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Egypt and the MERCOSUR countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay), which came into force in 2017, plays an important role in promoting trade between Egypt and Brazil. Exports have jumped 3 times since FTA.

In textiles, Egypt's exports to Brazil stood at $1.158 million in 2017, rising to $3.507 million in 2020 and $9.223 million in 2021, according to Texpro.
