Weather systems made across the country
The Deep Depression over South West Bay of Bengal weakened into a depression on the night of March 5. It is now being seen as a deep low pressure area over southwest Bay of Bengal, which is moving in southeast direction towards Tamil Nadu coast.
The Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining parts of Ladakh.
A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayas from March 8.
Weather movement across the country during the last 24 hours
During the last 24 hours, light rain occurred over parts of Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands off South Tamil Nadu coast. The weather remains dry over the rest of the country.
The sea condition remains rough over southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Tamil Nadu coast. The wind speed was gusting to 60 kmph gusting to 40 to 50 kmph.
Threat weather activity during 24 hours
During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy falls very likely over Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. Light rain and snow is possible at isolated parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are very likely to occur over Tamil Nadu Coast and parts of Kerala.
Light rain is possible over parts of Punjab and southern parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
On March 7, light rain activities are likely over Southwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of North Madhya Maharashtra. Rain activities are expected to start over Haryana, parts of East Rajasthan and isolated parts of East Gujarat on March 8.
The Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal will get more weekend and its impact will not be significant over Tamil Nadu Coasts. Light to moderate rain with moderate winds is very likely over Tamil Nadu Coast and Andhra Pradesh South Coast. The wind speed can range from 30 to 40 kmph to 50 kmph.
